Sighisoara
Sighisoara holidays
The atmospheric town of Sighisoara dates from the 13th century. The old town has many artisan shops and cafes and, unlike many other pretty medieval towns to be found in Europe, this one is lived in and has not yet become a showcase for artists.
This 12th century Saxon, walled citadel offers cobbled streets, century old eateries and untouched churches. Visit the famous Clock Tower, walk up to the Church on the Hill – an important construction built by the people of Sighisoara in the 14th century or visit the house where one of Romania’s infamous princes, Vlad the Impaler, was born. The town is also a UNESCO World Heritage site – a true link with history.
