The location is picturesque and  village, with its cobbled streets, tiled rooftops, picturesque balconies and shaded courtyards is untouched by modern developments.  This is an ideal spot for those interested in exploring local nature trails. The village has many churches and chapels but is best known for a most famous Byzantine monument and a UNESCO World Heritage site, the monastery of St John Lampadistis.
