A sweet-toothed stay in Perugia

Each year in October, chocolate connoisseurs in their thousands flock to the Umbrian city of Perugia for Eurochocolate (17-26 October), a sugar-coated festival celebrating all things cocoa. There are tastings, cooking demonstrations and workshops, as well as stalls peddling all manner of treats, run by the world’s finest chocolatiers. Stay in the heart of the city at Hotel Fortuna, a carefully-renovated 14th century property with plenty of original features. A seven-night stay in October costs from £821 pp (two sharing) including flights (Heathrow) and car hire.
