Sailing in Croatia

Departure day is a Saturday

The transfer time is approximately 15 minutes from Split airport

The Croatian coastline is perfect for sailing holidays. With so many islands and ports, you can stop as many times as you like or sail for as long as you wish. With over 1,000 islands, sailing holidays can provide the ideal way of seeing some of the smaller (perhaps even uninhabited!) islands that would otherwise be difficult to visit on scheduled ferries. These dazzling islands, all located only a short distance from the mainland coast, offer safe, easy navigation in crystal clear waters.

Croatia lies at the meeting point of the Mediterranean, the Alps and the Pannonian plains. With 47 Marinas, hosting 13,000+ berths afloat, together with countless town quays & harbours, most brimming with his- torical or cultural interest, you will never be far from a restaurant or shop for supplies. En route, you will be spoilt for choice when looking for that quiet cove or bay to anchor in or, for that peaceful swim in warm crystal clear waters.

Navigare Yachting Adria > are based in the new marina of Kastela, in the village of Kastela. The transfer from Split airport takes about 15 minutes and this is organised by NYA's own fleet of mini-buses. From Kastela, the city of Split is a further 15 minute drive away and is clearly visible from the marina. This area is known as the Central Dalmatian Coast and as such it is easy to cruise north to the Kornati Islands - especially the Krka National Park with its fabulous waterfalls. These are only a ten minute water taxi ride from the marina at Skradin. Alternatively, head south and, eventually, after a few leisurely days arrive in Dubrovnik.

However, there is no particular need to be so adventurous as, close to hand, and within generally short hops of each other are the islands of Brac, Solta, Hvar and Vis. These have a maritime lifestyle, history and cultural legacy dating back to the Ancient times offering more then enough to see in a one  week itinerary.

Marina Kastela and Croatia

Marina Kastela is the newest marina, situated on the South-East shores of Kastela bay and shielded by the Kozjak mountain from the North while the  Marjan and Ciovo peninsulas guard its southern sea approach.
Its outstanding geographical position in the mid Adriatic, as well as expert project design and implementation, make Marina Kastela:

* A safe harbour for private and charter oper- ated yachts.

*  A relaxing location to spend your holidays, enjoying its mild Mediterranean climate with dry and warm summers & wet and mild winters along the coast.

* A marina with excellent worldwide connec- tions via Split International Airport situated only 7km away.

* A marina close to mid-Adriatic islands that provide natural protection and at the same time a rich, nautical infrastructure.

Combining Sailing with the Atrium Hotel
As at our other destinations we offer you the chance to mix a week afloat with another ashore in luxury accommodation.

For the Split area of Croatia we are recommending the newly built 5-star Hotel Atrium. This Property with its architectural harmony of  marble and glass  was built above the remains of the ancient Diocletian aqueduct which can be  seen in the  gallery located below the street level next to the main hotel entrance.
