The Fernando de Noronha archipelago consists of 21 small islands - however most of the area of the national park is underwater. Huge numbers of fish, turtles and dolphins can be found in the warm waters off the coast of these idyllic islands.  

Fernando de Noronha can be reached by air from Natal or Recife and, whilst being closer to Natal it is actually part of Pernambuco state.   

Accommodation on the island is basic but comfortable and packages can include activities like boat trips and dives, depending on the level of diving experience. The dry season is between August and December and is considered the best time for diving due to the crystal clear water
