Hurtigruten Coastal Express

The Hurtigruten Coastal Express has been breathing life into Norway’s remote coastal villages for over a century providing a vital transportation link for local residents, mail and supplies. Today, the vessels are also used to transport visitors along the beautiful, North Sea coastline from Bergen across the Arctic Circle to Kirkenes on the Russian border.

With daily departures and 34 ports of call, the Hurtigruten Coastal Express is one of the most flexible means of transportation in Norway with clients able to join and depart the cruise at any port.

The fleet:
Eleven Hurtigruten cruise ships sail along the coast of Norway at any one time, each with its own distinct style and character depending on the size and age of the vessel. Each has a dining room, bar, library and panoramic lounges. Many ships have a sun deck and the MS Trollfjord, MS Finnmarken and MS Midnatsol have a Jacuzzi.

The cabins:
Standard cabins have a bathroom (ensuite shower and wc), twin beds – bunk beds on some occasions – one of which can be made into a sofa. Some standard cabins onboard the MS Lofoton and the MS Nordstjernen do not have ensuite facilities.

Suites have a bathroom (ensuite shower and wc), twin or double beds and a seating area with TV. Some suites have a bathroom with bath or Jacuzzi.

Notes:
• Cabins vary in size and location on the ship.
• As a general rule outside cabins on a higher deck have a panoramic window whereas cabins on the lower decks have a porthole.
