These 9 traditionally restored stone cottages are located at the foot of the Tronqueira mountain range, and are split in to 4 complexes situated along the same road in the quaint village of Lomba da Fazenda. The cottages have all been lovingly renovated by the owner Mr Antonio Melo to offer modern conveniences in a rural setting. For those wishing to experience a peaceful stay in rural surroundings, you could not wish for more. Highly recommended!

 

Refugio do Convento – 3 cottages:
These three cottages open onto a shared garden (each house has its own private area) with distant ocean view, washing lines and barbecues. There is also parking for 3 cars to the front of the houses.

Casa do Traje (sleeps 2+2): Double bedroom, bathroom (shower), living room with original wine press, sofa bed, TV, radio, CD player, dining table and kitchen (washing machine, microwave, fridge, freezer, 4 gas hobs, electric oven, kettle and toaster).
Casa do Acor (sleeps 4): One double bedroom and one twin bedroom, bathroom (shower), living room with TV, radio, CD player, dining table and kitchen (washing machine, microwave, fridge, freezer, 4 gas hobs, electric oven, kettle and toaster).
Casa do Tamanca (sleeps 4): One double bedroom and one twin bedroom, bathroom (shower), living room with TV, radio, CD player, dining table and kitchen (washing machine, microwave, fridge, freezer, 4 gas hobs, electric oven, kettle and toaster).

 

Casa do Figueira – 1 cottage:

The detached Casa do Figueira enjoys a private garden with a beautiful view over the village of Nordeste to the ocean, washing line and barbecue. Private parking.

(Sleeps 4): One double bedroom with garden view and one twin bedroom with ocean view, bathroom (shower), separate toilet, living room with TV, radio, CD and cassette player, dining table and kitchen (original stone bread maker, washing machine, microwave, fridge, freezer, 4 gas hobs, electric oven, kettle and toaster).

 

Casas do Pinheiro Alto – 2 cottages:

The Casa do Forno and Casa da Bilha share a private garden to the rear with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside to the ocean. These houses are accessed by a number of steps and are not suitable for those with walking difficulties. Private parking c. 50 metres from the property.
Casa do Forno (sleeps 4): Ground floor: Twin bedroom with private access.
First floor: Double bedroom, bathroom (shower), living room with TV, radio, CD player, dining table and kitchen (washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer, 4 gas hobs, electric oven, kettle and toaster).
Casa da Bilha (sleeps 2): Ground floor: Living room with TV, radio, CD and cassette player, dining table and wood burning oven.
Mezzanine level: Wooden steps lead to a mezzanine level with double bedroom with view over the countryside and ocean.
Lower floor: Bathroom (shower) and kitchen (washing machine, microwave, fridge, freezer, 4 gas hobs, electric oven, kettle and toaster). The kitchen has an independent entrance.

 

Casas do Frade – 3 cottages

The Casas do Frade were the first houses renovated by Antonio Melo. These houses are smaller in size than the other houses and so we would recommend them for a shorter stay or as a summer retreat when the large shared garden with ocean views, washing lines and barbecues can be used.
Casa de Pedra (sleeps 2): Double bedroom with view over the gardens to the ocean, small living room with TV, radio, CD and cassette player, dining table and kitchenette (microwave, fridge, freezer, 4 gas hobs, electric oven, kettle and toaster). Utility room with washing machine is located under the house. Please note that the kitchen has a low beam (5’ 1” in height).
Casa dos Barcos (sleeps 2+2): Double bedroom, bathroom (shower), living room with 2 pull out beds (suitable for adults), TV radio, CD and cassette player, small kitchen (original stone oven, dining table, washing machine, fridge, freezer, 4 gas hobs, electric oven, kettle and toaster).
Casa do Mirante (sleeps 2): Double bedroom with views over the countryside to the ocean, bathroom (shower), living room with TV, radio, CD and cassette player, kitchen with views over the garden to the ocean (dining table, microwave, fridge, freezer, 4 gas hobs, electric oven, kettle, toaster and washing machine).

Amenities/Leisure: Each cottage is individually decorated using traditional furniture and local handicrafts • All cottages have an iron and ironing board, cleaning equipment, utensils, cutlery, crockery, heating and an air-conditioning unit • Linen provided (changed at end of stay or on request if staying for a long duration) • Cleaning at end of stay • Approx. 200 metres to the closest café/supermarket in Lomba da Fazenda • 3km to mini-market, restaurants and bank in Vila do Nordeste • 3km to Lombo Gordo beach • 8km from Tronqueira mountain range • Welcome pack included (water, milk, coffee, tea, bread and traditional cakes) •  Free private parking.
