The wood and rock cabins, thatched with palm leaves, have private bathrooms and carpets made by different indigenous communities (fans only). Paintings by local artists are displayed in each room.

There are terrace areas with great views of the lake. The public areas comprise of an open kitchen, dining room and bar (guests dine together). While enjoying the excellent food, it is sometimes possible to see the hummingbirds that nest in Nitun. The owner of the lodge operates high quality jungle exploration and Maya ruin tours and has worked with the world's leading archaeologists as well as The National Geographic magazine.

Please note there are a number of steep steps down to the bungalows and to the lake (a torch is recommended!)
