A modest property in an excellent location, just a few steps from the centre of the city.

This was once the home of the Barbachano Peón family, who pioneered tourism to Mexico. It is a family-run hotel and now owned by their daughter, Carmen. It has a Spanish theme with Arabic influences.

There are 51 rooms - standard, superior (master) and suites - all with shower. They are quite spacious and comfortable, equipped with air-conditioning and mini-bar. The public areas feature marble flooring, stone arches and pillars and are furnished with large mirrors, paintings, antiques and wooden rocking chairs. There are internal patios with fountains, small trees and plants. There is also a pool at the rear of the property. There is a restaurant serving regional specialities and, adjacent, a bar. The hotel aims to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
