Deep Blue is one of the hidden gems of the Caribbean. Located on the beautiful island of Providencia and surrounded by verdant tropical forest and stunning turquoise waters.

It is a 10 minute taxi ride from the small airport in Providencia. The hotel’s 12 stylish rooms each have a private balcony and large windows with stunning sea views towards Crab Caye. The rooms (shower only) feature king size beds, air conditioning, flat screen TV’s, safe deposit box and fridge (no ceiling fans). There are five room types - Deluxe rooms, Ocean View Deluxe rooms, Junior Suites, Jacuzzi Suite and Luxury Suites. The Luxury suites include a private infinity-edged plunge pool.

The restaurant serves a mixture of dishes that combine the cuisine of Colombia and the Caribbean. The bar and restaurant deck are ideal for sunbathing or enjoying a cocktail by moonlight (please note there is no beach immediately in front of the hotel). The restaurant is open to the public. There is a small infinity-edged plunge pool with incredible views.

Please note due to the limitations of the satellite internet connections, wifi is only available in the reception. There are a number of activities available locally such as kayaking (complimentary), spear fishing and a trip to McBean Lagoon National Park. The hotel has its own 18 foot boat to take guests on private tours (payable locally) to explore Providencia and neighbouring Santa Catalina island, as well as a number of attractive Cayes. Tours can include picnics on deserted beaches and snorkelling. It is also recommended that you hire a buggy to explore the island at leisure as taxis can be relatively expensive.

Providencia’s pristine barrier reef is the third longest in the world and forms part of the UNESCO designated Seaflower Biosphere reserve. Scuba diving sites are suitable for both novice and experienced divers. The tropical waters are warm and offer good visibility (often in excess of 30 metres). The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service which does a circuit of the island taking guests to the beach of their preference (10 am departure, 4pm pick-up). The hotel is very active in conservation and strongly believes in preserving the local environment.

Deep Blue provides one of the highest standard of accommodation on Providencia island. Its offers great seafood, friendly staff and magical sunrise views.

Highly recommended.
