Tayrona National Park

  • Tayrona National Park, Colombia
  • Half Board basis (breakfast and dinner)
  • Ocean views
  • Positioned on hillside not recommended for those with walking difficulties
  • Isolated location - nothing nearby
  • Not safe to swim at beach in front of the hotel
  • Treks to beaches (safe for swimming)

This is currently the only good standard accommodation within the stunning Tayrona National Park. It is operated and managed by the park’s concession.

The 14 rustic bungalows are made in the style of Tayrona thatched huts and are dotted around a forested hillside facing the ocean. They are split level units - some with views of sandy bays and rocky outcrops. The upper section is the bedroom with TV, ipod dock, air-conditioning, fan and the lower level (tucked underneath - necessary to walk outside to access the stairs) has a small private patio with a hammock, table, chairs and adjacent shower and toilet. Cabins sleep from two to four people. A large cabin at the foot of the hill houses the restaurant which serves a limited selection of typical coastal dishes. There is a small handicrafts shop and spa with jacuzzi.

La Piscinita beach in front of the hotel has sun loungers and a bar. However, please note it is not safe to swim there. There is an area for private dining which has a jacuzzi and large hammock (book on arrival). The lodge can organise guided walks with indigenous guides (payable locally).

As the property is positioned on a steep hillside it is not recommended for those with walking difficulties. There tends to be a lot of wildlife roaming around the property such as lizards especially at night. The lodge is very remote and there is nothing nearby. Please do not expect a high end Caribbean resort hotel.
