Bear Dinner with Sami Story
Associated with rites and traditions, the bear has always been a sacred animal for Swedish natives. During this excursion you will experience the Sami bear ceremony, learning about the rituals, the hunting and the celebration associated with the Legend of the Bear. After the ceremony you will sample the meat around the glow of a campfire, whilst your guide tells you stories of the Sami culture and way of life.

Dog Sled Tours
Husky dog sleds and their mushers are synonymous with the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions of the world, and there is, in our opinion, no better way to travel across the snow-covered landscape. These excursions will travel through the pristine forest and along the frozen river valley which surrounds Harads. Take your seat and watch the beautiful wilderness pass before your eyes as your sled is steered by an experienced guide. It is also possible to try your hand at driving your own sled.

Everyday Life of a Sami Family
The Sami are the indigenous people of Lapland with their own language and culture. On this authentic personal tour you will meet the Nutti family in Svartla. They will introduce you to their reindeer and tell you all about the history, culture and everyday life of the Sami people.

Foraging Tasty Tour
Local food connoisseur Eva Gunnare is fascinating to talk to and her passion for the local produce is infectious. The tour includes a guided walk through the forest and meadows where you will discover the flavours of the surrounding nature. Eva will then serve you Fika including treats she has made from her foraged herbs and berries.

Ice Dining
Take a 10 minute snowmobile ride out to the frozen lake near the Treehotel. A 3-course dinner will be served in a heated tent, on the frozen lake, the route to which is lit by torches and candles. Enjoy a peaceful meal in the moonlight, in a location where, on a clear evening, it may be possible to see the Northern Lights dancing above you.

Ice Fishing on Snowshoes
The frozen River Lule is a popular location for ice fishing. On this three hour excursion you will be transferred from the Treehotel to the frozen River Lule and, equipped with a drill, bait and a hot drink, you will learn how to fish for perch and pike in the waters below the ice. The catch is served for lunch around a warming fire.

Photography in the Taiga
Under the supervision of a professional adventure photographer you will learn how to take pictures of the nature and landscape in the Taiga. Your tour will take you to some of the best locations, giving you the opportunity to capture fantastic photographs of wildlife including birds, reindeer and moose.

Sami Culture including a visit to the Arctic Circle
A 70 minute drive north of Harads, in the Ranea River valley, is the small community of Flakaberg. It is here that you will meet Lars Eriksson, a native Sámi, who will show you his reindeer pastures and explain about his life in the sub-Arctic and the history of reindeer herding. Lunch, made by Lars’ wife Anette, is served in a wooden cabin. This is an authentic and culturally enriching experience.

Snowmobile Safari
Cross the frozen wilderness surrounding the Treehotel on the back of a snowmobile. It is an exhilarating experience and one that will be remembered for a lifetime.
This is a small group tour with each participant being given the opportunity to drive. For a supplement you can drive your own snowmobile (with no accompanying passenger).

Snowshoe Walk
Get up close to the unspoiled wilderness on this snowshoe tour. Snowshoes are a wonderful way to explore the snow-covered forests and river valleys of the subArctic, often providing access to otherwise inaccessible areas and sightings of animals which call this winter landscape their home.

Snug Sleigh Ride

The Stately Storforsen
Northern Europe’s largest rapid can be found at Storsforsen, and even in the extreme cold the water does not freeze here. On this small group tour, you will be transferred to Storsforsen Nature Reserve. On arrival, it is an easy 2km stroll through to the rapids which you walk on your own, at your own pace. At the rapids, along with your local guide, you will enjoy lunch around an open fire and there will be plenty of time to relax, explore the area further and simply soak up the atmosphere.
