Mollo is a little further south than Setcases and stands at 3,878 feet above sea level in the foothills of the Pyrenees and has a population of around 350. There are panoramic views of mountains and valleys and Mollo is a good centre for walks (details can be provided - ranging from easy 5 km walks to harder, much longer hikes).

Can Jordi and El Costabona restaurants offer local cuisine using local ingredients as does the Hotel Calitxo which we feature which has an excellent restaurant much frequented by locals.

Mollo is a very good base from which to visit the higher reaches of the Pyrenees and also the many charming nearby villages like Espinavell, Setcases and the larger Camprodon. This is an area for nature lovers and walkers. The church of Santa Cecilia is well worth visiting and is an excellent example of Catalan Romanesque style. A charming little zoo can be found on the outskirts of the town which showcases animals native to the area like marmots, otters, chamois and bears.

A very good base for a two-centre holiday with the resort villages of the Costa Brava.

The town is approximately a two- and half-hour drive from Barcelona Airport and one hour and twenty minutes from Girona.

The Pyrenees offers some of the most remote and wild walking of any of our destinations and you will enjoy some of the best medium and high level walks in the area.
