The landscape is punctured by fast flowing rivers and interesting rock formations which create natural swimming pools. Canyons and waterfalls abound, rewarding even a moderately ambitious hike with the opportunity to ‘cool off’ under their powerful spray.

The best way to see the park is on foot and different lengths of walk are on offer. We can tailor your trek to suit your desired level of difficulty.

A visit to the Chapada dos Veadeiros will include a tour of Brasilia and an overnight stay. The national park is a three hour transfer from here.

Pousada accommodation is in Alto Paraiso or São Jorge on the edge of the park as there is no development within the park itself. Daily activities start and finish here. The area has also become known as a spiritual centre for those wishing to experience the ‘strong earth energy’ of the Cerrado Alto and the towns offer health foods, massage, and a generally relaxed atmosphere.

Through a long term partnership to promote responsible tourism in the region, Sunvil has been helping the Casa dos Curumins project since it was established 4 years ago.

The creche now looks after 30 young children in need, providing them with freshly cooked, healthy meals and day support that encompasses care, education and play.
