The Arctic is one of the few remaining wildernesses easily accessible from Europe. Once seen and experienced, the Arctic is like a magnet, drawing you back for more.
The ice class passenger vessel MV Quest answers that call for more. Built in Denmark in 1992 and destined to be a ferry serving Greenland’s west coast, she was completely refurbished as a comfortable expedition ship in 2004/5. The passenger area underwent a further renovation in 2018. The vessel is 45.61 metres long and 11 metres wide and its service speed 12-14 knots.
MV Quest can carry 53 passengers in 26 outside cabins, all with private facilities. As a result, cruising on the ship feels like you are party to a family gathering. Horour Holm Masson is your highly experienced seafaring captain, backed by Noe Salazar Padilla, your hotel manager and Noe Salazar, his son, your waiter and cabin steward. Margherita Lucadello and Eamonn Briel are your experienced guides. Then there’s the rest of the friendly international crew of course!
The food on board is provided by local suppliers; pure, fresh and straight from the source so to speak. So, you not only see and feel the Arctic but you literally get to taste it too. There is the freshest of seafood and high-grade wild game, all of which reflect the culture of the Arctic.
From the panorama lounge there are breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The lounge is used for talks on the area’s flora, fauna and history. The lounge also has a bar and small library.
There are spacious observation decks and passengers are welcome on the bridge at any time day or night where there is always something to see or search for. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.
Unique for a ship of this size, are the six zodiacs which enable shore visits anywhere. In fact, the boats can accommodate all passengers with easy and safe access through the side port (suitable for all ages).
The MV Quest offers a unique way of visiting this breathtaking part of the world and our two itineraries for 5 Nights and 6 Nights will bring the region to life.
