The Signum Hotel is a charming property made up of several buildings that were once ordinary houses within the village. The owners gradually bought several houses over the years and have created a small community set around a series of landscaped terraces and luscious gardens filled with beautifully scented Mediterranean plants.  The guestrooms, simple in style, are furnished with antiques, have whitewashed walls and many have a private terrace or balcony with garden and sea views.

Salina, one of the seven islands of the Aeolian archipelago located off the north coast of Sicily, is relatively untouched by tourism.  The beaches are mostly made up of rock and boulder rather than sand.  You can climb down the rocks and dive into the clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea although climbing back onshore is a little harder.  Rinella beach is great for snorkelling and the town of Pollara, used as a backdrop for the enchanting film ‘Il Postino’, has a pretty bay where you will be treated to some stunning sunsets.
