Hanging in the air above tiny Limeni Village which nestles in the Bay of Limeni, this local stone built hotel, consisting of 16 towers and housing 48 rooms, blends into the barren rock faces of the Mani landscape. This is a friendly and welcoming hotel. The views from the property are spectacular.

The Limeni Village Hotel is a 10 minute drive from the Diros caves, some of the most spectacular caves in Europe which can only be explored by boat and whose true extent has still not been discovered.

It is also a 10 minute drive from the historic Areopolis, the Mani base of the Petrobey Mavromichali clan which ruled this part of the Mani in the first half of the 19th century.  It was Petros’s brother and his brother’s son who, after a disagreement with Ioannis Kapodistrias, the brilliant leader of the Greek Senate in Nafplion, assassinated him.  The mansion of the Mavromichali clan also stands above Limeni village which now has a population of 12 persons and also a very good taverna - Taki’s Fish Taverna.

So, quite a historical yet remote spot.  Swimming and snorkeling from here is excellent, but there is no beach.
