Antequera is an ideal location from which to explore Andalucia, at a crossroads in the region, with road links to Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Malaga. Each within a two hour drive, the Parador can be used as a base from which to discover this stunning part of the country or to simply explore Antequera. Highlights of the city include the Arch of the Giants (Arco de los Gigantes), which was constructed in 1585; the Viera, Menga and El Romeral dolmens which date from the Copper Age; a Moorish fortress, the Alcazaba of Antequera and the 16th century church of Santa Maria la Mayor.

Close to Antequera, ideal for nature lovers, you will find the El Torcal Nature Reserve which is filled with narrow winding paths and formations that have been sculpted, over millions of years, in the limestone. The astronomy observatory of El Torcal, open to the public, reminds us that this is also a great location for star gazing.

Rooms at the Parador are elegantly decorated, light and comfortable whilst the gardens offer a tranquil place to relax, and from where you can enjoy beautiful views of the Andalusian landscape and witness magnificent sunsets.
