The Alcazar del Rey Don Pedro, more commonly known as the Parador of Carmona, is a beautiful 14th century Arab fortress. High above town, in the historic district, the Parador boasts picturesque views over the surrounding countryside and the Corbones River. Bedrooms have a classical decor and are light and spacious whilst the interior cloistered courtyard, with its Mudejar fountain, is surrounded with comfortable lounges. The former refectory is now home to a charming dining room featuring high ceilings and large windows. Of particular interest is the Bernejo function room with its antiques and rugs.

Still found in Carmona today are traces of the past, left by those who settled here over the centuries and include Seville Gate (Puerta de Sevilla) and the Roman Necropolis, whilst the city museum takes you back on a journey through Camona’s history. Within easy reach of the Parador you will find the city of Seville (c.30km); the Roman ruins of Italica (c.40km); Ecija which dates back to the 8th century BC and is home to several baroque churches; and Osuna (c.50km) which has a rich historic quarter, archaeological sites at Las Canteras and is also featured in ‘Game of Thrones’.
