The resort comprises 37 rooms and suites, split across a handful of three-storey buildings. At the top of the property, near the lobby and Mirador restaurant, you’ll be greeted with postcard views across the Pacific and down the coast to the national park, while staying closer to the beach is a treat for those who like to lay in bed listening to the waves. Standard Rainforest Rooms feature kitchenettes, little garden-facing terraces and a simple, yet fresh, modern aesthetic. Delightfully soft beds and spacious rainfall showers come as standard.

There are two restaurants which both offer an extensive, quality selection of international and regionally inspired dishes, with ingredients locally fished and farmed. The Mirador Oceanview restaurant, with its expansive views, hosts breakfast and dinner, both à la carte. The former features the full spectrum of light to indulgent, local to global fare, with standout delights including fluffy pineapple coconut pancakes drizzled with salted banana caramel. Dinner meanwhile is a creative, fine dining affair.

Down at the beach, lunch – a collection of ceviches, salads and sandwiches – is served at Playitas. Themed evenings such as beach barbecues are a regular occurrence too and a perfect opportunity to try a wonderful selection of tropical cocktails showcasing the best of Latin America’s spirits.

In Manuel Antonio you’ll find plenty of memorable ways to experience the rainforest and all its plentiful wildlife. From early morning bird-watching to nature hikes after dark. Head into the trees to explore the tropical ecosystem with expert in-house naturalist guides – monkeys, sloths, toucans and macaws are just a few of the residents you’ll likely spot.
