Anemos Studios and Windmills

On the hillside above the small beach resort area of Panteli, these studios and converted windmills offer plenty of peace and quiet with panoramic views over the village and bay.

Windmills are a feature of Leros's hilly landscape, and the pair here afford the opportunity to stay in a traditional building of character. Built on two floors, downstairs is a living room with a kitchen area for light meals, curved sofa seating and shower room. Above is the wooden-floored bedroom with king sized bed. Mod cons include Wifi, TV and air conditioning. Each windmill has its own furnished covered front patio with far reaching views over village, coastline and sea.

Below the Green Windmill, and completely self contained, is a Family Apartment - spacious at 80 sq m for 2 adults and up to 2 children. It comprises a double bedroom, living room with kitchen and two sofa beds, shower room and outside terrace seating area with sea views.

The four studios are built just below and to one side of the windmills and are also spacious and comfortable. Attractively furnished in the rustic local style, with wood floors, they offer the same facilities and fine views from their terraces.

The owner, Mr Kostas, has many years' experience of welcoming guests from the UK and could not be more helpful or informative about his island.

It's a 10 minute walk down the road to the harbour and beach (there is a short cut of 250m that halves this time via some steps) where you will find four taverna restaurants and several beach cafes. There is a bus stop here, which will take you over the hill to the main town of Agia Marina just a couple of kilometres away. It can be walked in around 30 minutes, and taxis are inexpensive.

Due to the elevated location (40m) a stay here is not suited to anyone with mobility problems.
