Areti Bungalows

On Halkidiki’s second peninsula (Sithonia), a 1 hour 50 minute drive from Thessaloniki airport (121 kms), lie the Areti Bungalows, an idyllic get-away-from-it-all gem.

The bungalows, although recently built, are attached to (although separate from) the low key camping site which has been operated by the Charalampides family for 40 years. They nestle amongst olive groves, eucalyptus and pine trees in acres of grounds bordering a beautifully sandy beach. Off the beach lie three small islands to complete the idyllic picture.

There are eight bungalows built in pairs, so housed in four buildings. designed and furnished in contemporary style, each unit comprises two bedrooms (one double, one twin), living room with light cooking facilities, bathroom with bath or shower, a spacious covered veranda and its own patch of lawned garden with hammock.

Bungalow guests have a private space on one of the two sandy beaches just 50 metres away, where use of sun beds, umbrellas and kayaks is free of charge. there is a tennis court (equipment provided) and a small shop on site for food, drinks and other necessities.

There is a good restaurant on site where traditional Greek cooking is to be had, including fresh fish. Tavernas can be found within 1 to 3 kms and Neos Marmaras, the largest village on Sithonia, is 12 kms away.

If you want a complete escape in glorious natural surroundings then this is the place.

Note: Areti Bungalows does not accept children under 8 years of age.Car hire from the airport is strongly recommended in order to explore the villages and beaches along the coast, and for alternative dining/shopping options. It also makes financial sense as a week's car costs about the same as the taxi transfers that would otherwise be required.
