NorthPoint Rooms 1953 is a wonderful find on Kefalonia’s north coast.

Owner-managed by Haris Tsimaras and his team, this remarkable boutique property, in our opinion, epitomises the best of Greek hospitality and comfort – we could not recommend it highly enough.

Remodelled from a traditional farmstead in the rural village of Markandonata, there are five guest rooms here (two standard room and three superior rooms). Each room has been individually decorated using natural colours and materials, interspersed with scatterings of richly coloured soft furnishings and unique artistic features. The design has been carefully chosen to pay homage to the property’s rustic foundations whilst offering comfortable, modern accommodation.

In the main house you’ll find a lounge/living area where you are encouraged to make yourself at home. Take a chair in front of the fireplace and snuggle down with a book or a board game.

Outside is a pretty garden with a plunge pool and sun terrace. Views are over the lemon trees and neighbouring olive groves.

It is 10 minutes’ drive from the picturesque port of Fiscardo and, for nature lovers, there are many marked trails to explore in the area. We’d like to highlight Dafnoudi beach that can be reached on foot – this is a small, secluded pebble beach.

Standard Double Room

Standard Room (25 sqm) with air conditioning, king size double bed, bathroom (with bath or shower, toiletries, bathrobes and hairdryer), pool towels, flat screen TV, safety deposit box and with views of the gardens and mountains. Evdokia and Efrosini are the names of the two standard rooms.

Superior Room

Superior Room (45 sqm) with air conditioning, king size double bed, bathroom (with walk-in shower, toiletries, bathrobes and hairdryer), pool towels, flat screen TV, safety deposit box, outdoor dining area and with views of the gardens and mountains. Haris, Stefania and Annika are the three superior rooms.
