Cyprus has a rich history and due to its strategic position in the Mediterranean has been invaded by the Greeks, Persians, Romans, Phoenicians, Normans, Venetians, Turks and British to name but a few. Here we suggest a fly-drive itinerary which covers some of what the island offers. Feel free to alter to suit your preferences. We are here to guide and advise.

Day 1 - Day of arrival
Arrive into either Larnaca or Paphos airports, collect your car and drive to The Library Hotel and Wellness Resort in Kalavasos.

Day 2 - Khirokitia
In the morning visit the Neolithic World Heritage site of Khirokitia and the excavations at Tenta. We suggest lunch in a fish taverna at Zygi and on to explore Larnaca, the island’s third largest city and site of Hala Sultan Tekke, the burial place of Umm Haram, Mohamed’s wet-nurse and the third holiest shrine for Muslims.

Day 3 - Amathus
Drive west to visit the ruins of the kingdom of Ancient Amathus, dating from 1,000 BC and then on to Limassol, the island’s second largest city. Spend the day exploring the city and especially the old town.

Day 4 - Villages
A day spent exploring the traditional wine villages of Lefkara, Drys, Vavla, Skarinou and Vasa and then on to the Troodos mountains.

Day 5 & 6 - Nicosia
Head for Nicosia, the island’s capital to visit the archeological museum, the old town and the Green Line dividing the south from the Turkish occupied north.

Day 7 - Paphos
Drive to Paphos with a stop at the Knight Hospitalers’ Kolossi Castle and on to the spectacularly located Hellenistic and Roman city of Curium (Kurion) followed by a visit to the World Heritage site of Palea Paphos and Aphrodite’s Temple, 12 or so Kilometres from Nea Paphos and the modern city and resort. In antiquity, Paphos was the birthplace of Aphrodite the goddess of love.

Day 8 - Paphos
Explore modern, Pano and Kato Paphos within which area lies ancient Nea Paphos, the tombs of the Kings and the remarkable and world famous mosaics of the Houses of Dionysos, Theseus and Aion. Paphos is like an open-air museum and a World Heritage site.

Day 9 - Akamas National Park
The area between Paphos and Polis on the north coast boasts several very interesting monasteries in very picturesque locations which are well worth visiting, like Aghios Neophytos and Panayia Chrysorrogiatissa. There are also some very interesting villages in the mountains above Paphos. Alternatively, drive along the coast to the Akamas National Park and stop off for a swim at one of the many beaches along the coast

Day 10 - Day of departure
After breakfast, depending on the time of your return flight, time for some shopping before driving to either Larnaca or Paphos airports.
