Island hopping in the Ionian - Corfu, Paxos, Meganissi and Ithaca

Dating back to 1823, this Venetian style mansion was the ancestral home of the Metaxas family.  When executing the excellent restoration of the building into a four star, boutique property, they decided to call the hotel after the local name of their grandmother - Siorra Vittoria.

The hotel, set in a beautiful garden, is decorated in elegant, classic style with traditional colours.  Personalised service creates a welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff are on hand to offer advice on what to see, the best places to eat as well as what sports activities are available in the area.  The location is excellent, as the Siorra Vittoria is set in the centre of the old part of Corfu Town, five minutes’ walk from the Liston, surrounded by restaurants, cafes and shops yet an oasis of calm within a walled garden.

The hotel’s lush, mature garden with flowers and pine trees and a Magnolia tree dating back to the 18th century, separates the rooms from the main building. The accommodation is comprised of  two classic double bedded rooms, two ground floor classic double bedded rooms next to the main building which have separate access.  There are also two junior suites which have a king size bed and a double bedded exclusive junior suite with wood panelled ceiling and a view of the fortress.  Furnishings are period and made of oak. The ground floor two bedroom family suite for up to 4 persons has a private terrace. Both rooms are double bedded.

Breakfast can be taken in either your room (at no extra charge) or in the garden under the shade of the unique Magnolia tree.

You could call this hotel your private residence!

The elevated location of these apartments, on the hillside just behind Gaios, enables super views over the village and bay.

There are five apartments on the first (top) floor. Each comprises a large twin or double bedroom (all with a full sized extra bed), separate kitchen to the rear (2-ring mini-oven, fridge, table and chairs), shower room and good sized covered front balcony with views to Gaios, the sea and the mountains of the mainland across the straits.

On the ground floor there is an open plan garden apartment of a similar description with twin beds and partial sea views from the corner of the garden. We like this apartment because it is cool, quiet and has no neighbours. It opens directly onto the garden, has a little patio area.

All apartments are spacious with simple furnishings and light decor, AC, WiFi, TV and safety deposit box included in the price.

To the rear of the property is an attractive pool area - the pool is freshwater and measures 9.40m x 4.60m (depth 1.20m - 1.70m) with steps in and sun beds and umbrellas on the surrounding terrace.

It is a 5 minute walk (450m) down to Gaios' central square with its good choice of taverna restaurants, cafe-bars and shops, 7-8 minutes to the quayside for the water-taxis to the Antipaxos beaches, and 12-15 minutes to the town beach. But please be aware that the final walk back up is a steep 250m so unsuited to anyone with fitness, health or walking difficulties unless a car is hired.

Beach transfer service: 
As an alternative to Antipaxos and the town beach we offer a transfer service for Theodora guests to a couple of lovely small beaches a short distance (3 kms - a 5-6 minute drive) to the north of Gaios. Both Kloni Gouli and Kaki Langada are pretty pebble/shingle beaches with a seasonal snack bar and sunbeds / umbrellas available for their patrons. The transfer service costs €18 for up to three persons and will take you between 10 and 11 in the morning, returning between 5 and 5.30 in the afternoon (times can be adjusted locally to suit, subject to availability). Additional persons cost €6 per person return. The transfer should be booked the previous day via our Paxos representative or by calling into our office in the main square of Gaios.

Rose Garden is built above and to the side of Vathy’s pretty harbour. The slightly elevated position enables good views away from any harbour bustle, but the waterfront can be easily reached in just a couple of minutes by footpath (steep in parts) and a few steps.

All five studios possess a double bed; a fitted kitchenette area with 2 rings, mini-oven and full fridge; modern shower room; air-conditioning; safety deposit box; tv (selected studios), WiFi and spacious covered front balcony with views over the village, hills and (to one side) the harbour. A hairdryer and iron can be supplied on request locally, as well as free use of a washing machine. Our studios are mainly top floor, but one on the upper ground floor is a little larger and has both a double and a single bed.

There is also a 1-bedroom apartment, also on the upper ground floor, which is similar with the addition of a living room (also air-conditioned) containing a double sofa-bed for one adult or two children and an open-plan kitchen area with full cooker – both rooms open onto the splendid, large, covered private balcony terrace.

The quality throughout is very good, with comfortable furnishings, modern fixtures and tasteful décor. To one side of the building is indeed a rose garden, with seating under a pergola, views to the harbour and a BBQ area in the corner for guests’ use.

Kioni Apartments are located in the heart of Kioni, directly on the waterfront. This pretty coastal village is the ideal location to which to escape from the bustle of reality. Here, one can dream and enjoy a slower pace of life. White-pebble beaches and neoclassical mansions line the horseshoe bay which is backed by wooded hills.

Kioni has several family-run tavernas, cafe bars and small shops which line the harbour. The bay itself features three or four beaches. For a fun day out, why not hire a boat and explore further afield.

The Kioni apartments are composed of six, light, comfortable, air-conditioned apartments. Each has a twin bedroom, shower room, kitchenette and living area with two divan beds. French doors open onto a private, sea-facing balcony where you can relax and watch the daily movements of yachts and fishing boats. A daily maid service is included.
