The Greek islands are the perfect destination for a two-centre holiday, allowing you to easily combine islands steeped in Greek mythology, with secluded island retreats and wonderful beaches or to just explore the islands that you’ve always wanted to visit, all in one holiday.
Our 14 night twin centre holiday to Chios and Lesvos is the ideal itinerary to immerse yourself in Greece's fabled history as well as while away the hours on beautiful sun-kissed beaches.
Although Chios has many stunning beaches, it is particularly famous for its medieval villages. Traditional villages, such as Pyrgi and Olympi stand out for their elaborate architecture. You’ll probably haven’t seen anything similar to the traditional houses of Chios before. Their facades are decorated with black and white geometrical designs, while they are surrounded by labyrinth-like narrow alleys that emit a mysterious feel. If you want to truly seek the mystery of Chios, we strongly recommend on hiring a car to see this gem of an island in all its glory. Discover ghost villages, medieval castles and Byzantine monasteries, such as the Monastery of Nea Moni and the Monastery of Agia Markella, the protector of the island.
The lush, green island of Lesvos, or Mytilini as it is also called, is like no other Greek island and perhaps no other place in the world. It is the third largest of the islands behind Crete and Evia. Virtually unaffected by the mass tourism, Lesvos is the perfect place to visit for people who want to experience the real Greece. For the Greek Island traveler who is worried about not having enough to do, Lesvos is the perfect destination with beautiful beaches, amazing food, pine and hardwood forests and over a million olive trees.

Overnight at the Sideratos Apartments, Chios
On day 8 of your holiday you will transfer to Chios airport for your flight to Lesvos.
While no Greek island is like another, Chios really stands out primarily to the unique fortress-like architecture of its villages that makes them look so different to the buildings on other islands. That style stems from the island's history as the ancestral home of shipping barons and the world's only commercial producer of mastic. To delve into the true heart of Chios, we recommend hiring a car during your time here.

Lesvos is a jewel of an island, often called the emerald isle because much of it is covered in lush forests and olive groves. It is one of the biggest and most beautiful islands in Greece, large enough to have an unbelievable wealth of attractions but traditional enough to overflow with charm and character.

The eight studios are surrounded by a neat garden and housed on two floors. Rooms are very spacious (35 sq m) and beautifully done in a light, modern, uncluttered style. Most are double bedded (there are a couple of twins) and all possess light kitchen facilities and a full-sized sofa bed.
Despite the lovely rooms we think that guests will spend more time outdoors than in - if not on the beach or in a local cafe/taverna then just relaxing on their large private front balcony (balconies have been artfully stepped back for maximum privacy) listening to the waves and admiring the panoramic sea views.
To one side is a common shaded sitting area in the garden, with a library of holiday reading and comfy sofas. Here you will learn about the island from your helpful hosts, Cindy and Yannis.
Steps lead down to the beach below. Being at the furthest corner of the bay, the beach here is near-private (narrower here but it soon widens out) and gently shelving once in the sea. Beach towels and a sun umbrella can be provided.
It is a 5 minute walk down the road behind (slight hill) to the first taverna and mini-market, and 10 minutes' to the centre where you will find a choice of others. On the beach sun beds and umbrellas are available in season, commonly at no charge if you patronise the cafe behind. For a change to the sea, a neighbouring hotel allows visitors to use their swimming pool, subject to patronising the hotel's cafe/snack bar.
These five, large, one bedroom modern apartments are just 30 seconds walk from Molyvos Beach. The walk into the town is along the beach and takes approximately 10 minutes at a leisurely pace.
