In 2024 Lagou Raxi (Hares Ridge) Country Hotel celebrates 10 years of warm hospitality .

Situated on the edge of the picturesque and traditional (listed) village of Lafkos it is a wonderful location to explore the southern half of the Pelion peninsula. Enjoy magical sunsets over the gloriously sweeping views across the Pagasitic Gulf from the pool bar.

In under 10 minutes by foot you arrive in the shady central square of Lafkos where there is an impressive church, five tavernas, pharmacy, a traditional baker, and some small gift and general stores as well as the oldest kafeneion in Greece! With a car you are well placed for exploration of beautiful south Pelion with its wide choice of some truly fabulous beaches (the fact that the hotel's rooms are individually named after different local beaches tells you that you'll need a 3 week stay to get around every one!), old monasteries and chapels. The receptionist is local and will share her secret favourites.

The hotel's 20 spacious rooms, housed in 3 traditionally styled buildings, each with its own character and decor, offer large double or twin beds (four-posters in some Junior Suites), bath and/or shower, tea-making facilities, a small fridge, hairdryer, air conditioning/heating if required, ceiling fan, TV, room safe and sea, village or pool views. Junior Suites and Suites have a balcony or terrace - a balcony for Standard rooms is on request.

A tennis court complements the pool (towels provided) surrounded by the Mediterranean style gardens, terraces and pergolas. If you want to take it easy a well-stocked library provides a wide choice of reading material.

Breakfast at Lagou Raxi is fresh and varied. Light meals, snacks, a variety of salads and desserts are available throughout the day from the pool bar.

Lagou Raxi is a Pelion hotel with high standards but friendly and without pretence. It is an excellent, restful base from which to fully explore this beautiful and little known corner of Greece, either by car or on foot (we offer self guided walking holidays from here), and painting holidays are also on offer at certain times of the season.
