Day 2 - Harstad - Sortland
After breakfast, board a postal ship. Travel along the coast of Vesterålen to Risøyhamn and Sortland (approx. 4.5 hours). The Norwegian Coastal Express has a history dating back over 130 years and served as a vital link between northern and southern Norway via its sea routes.
The route begins in the historic city of Bergen and continues to Kirkenes in the far northeast, calling at 34 ports along Norway's rugged coastline. Sortland, with a population of around 4,500, is the regional center of the Vesterålen archipelago. The houses painted in various shades of blue are particularly striking. The blue represents movement, the “change of forms in space and time.” The inhabitants have lived from fishing and agriculture since the end of the 19th century. Today, the “blue city” is also the headquarters of the Norwegian Coast Guard.

Day 3 - Vesterålen with fjord and sea eagle safari
The Vesterålen archipelago offers a magical atmosphere, especially in the winter months, with a variety of activities and natural spectacles. The region is ideal for viewing the Northern Lights. Look up at the sky in the evening and, with a little luck, you will see the Northern Lights dancing above you. One day, you will take part in a fjord and sea eagle safari in a RIB boat. A fast-paced adventure that brings you close to the breathtaking nature of Vesterålen.
From Sortland, the tour takes you through the Djupfjord and Sigerfjord. With the wind blowing through your hair and the fresh sea air surrounding you, you will feel as free as Norway's largest bird of prey, the majestic sea eagle, which is often spotted on this tour. As you travel through straits and open fjords, your guide will tell you exciting stories and point out interesting places along the route. If you want to learn more about the way of life of the indigenous Sami people, we recommend a visit to Inga Sámi Siida (optional). This unique cultural centre was founded by a Sami family and offers visitors the opportunity to participate in various activities and workshops, such as learning traditional crafts or preparing Nordic dishes.
If you want to relax after all your discoveries, you can use the sauna located next to the Hotel for an hour (Included)

You will reach Svolvær on the Vestfjord. It is the largest town in Lofoten and is bordered by the harbor areas and beautiful natural areas with the mountains Svolværgeita, Fløya, Blåtind, Kongstinden, and Tjeldbergtinden.

On the approximately 3-hour tour, your local guide will take you to the best viewing and photo spots and tell you interesting facts about the wildlife, nature, and history of the Lofoten Islands.
You can also explore Svolvær. Stroll along the quayside promenades with their fishermen's huts, fish farms, and fishing boats. In the evening, be sure to keep an eye out for the mystical Northern Lights. The clear winter nights offer ideal conditions for this natural phenomenon.

Day 6 - Svolvær - Harstad
The Lofoten Express bus takes you back to Harstad.
The city, with its 23,000 inhabitants, became prosperous in the 19th century thanks to its rich fishing resources. Alongside Tromsø, Harstad is the most important commercial and transport center in the Troms region. The harbor is a colorful mix of fishing boats, tankers, cargo ships, and Hurtigruten ships. Harstad is also known as the “cultural city of the north” because its cultural center has the largest concert hall in northern Norway with 1,000 seats. Stroll through the small, cozy city center or visit Trondenes Church not far from Harstad. Built in the 13th century in Romanesque style, the church is known as the northernmost preserved medieval church in the world. You can find relaxation and adventure at the same time at Grottebadet, Harstad's water park below the city (optional). Inside the mountain in the middle of the city center, you will find the most spectacular water park in Northern Norway, where summer reigns all year round. Between caves and waterfalls, you will find water slides, therapy pools, and whirlpools, among other things.
