Embark on an unforgettable train journey through Andalucia's heart, exploring the iconic cities of Malaga, Cordoba, and Granada. Begin in Malaga, a vibrant coastal city blending ancient history with contemporary charm, offering a delightful introduction to the region. Next, travel to Cordoba, where you'll step back in time in the Jewish Quarter and marvel at the Mezquita-Cathedral, a testament to its diverse heritage. Finally, your journey culminates in Granada, home to the awe-inspiring Alhambra palace and fortress, a masterpiece of Islamic art. Throughout, the scenic convenience of Spanish rail enhances your experience, providing comfortable and efficient travel between these extraordinary destinations, allowing you to savour every moment of your Andalucian adventure.
Málaga is a pleasure to visit year-round due to its mild winters which means that it is often warm enough to sit at pavement cafés during the day from November to January. The best time to visit is spring and autumn avoiding the hot summer sun (Jul-Aug) that often rises above 40 degrees centigrade.
Cordóba is an enchanting and bustling city with a rich cultural heritage influenced by its Roman and Muslim past. There are fascinating sites to be found alongside intriguing small streets and shops and a wide choice of restaurants, bars and street cafés. Many of its major fiestas take place between mid-April to mid-June.
Granada is rich in culture, history and medieval architecture dating back to the Moorish occupation, especially the unforgettable Alhambra Palace. This hilltop fortress complex encompasses beautiful courtyards and fountains, orchards of the Generalife gardens as well as the Nasrid buildings that served as living quarters for the monarchs and their servants.

Built in the 10th century, the Mezquita (Great Mosque) was erected under Arab rule and became the heart of the Islamic Empire. When the Christians reconquered the city in 1236, they were so impressed by the building that they allowed it to remain standing and created their cathedral within its walls - hence the extraordinary name of church-mosque.
Free time in the afternoon to visit the equally impressive Roman Bridge crossing the Guadalquivir River which was created when Cordoba was founded by the Romans. It was considered a strategic port of great importance for trading of goods (olive oil, wine and wheat) between Ancient Rome.
