Abisko in Northern Sweden is widely considered as one of the best places in the world to see the natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights and it is easy to see why. Not only is this small community located some 150 miles within the Arctic Circle and directly under the Auroral Oval - a geomagnetic field around the world, it also has very little light pollution and a low records of precipitation and cloudy skies. In fact, the microclimate of Abisko provides the ultimate conditions for a sighting of the spectacular Aurora Borealis. There will be plenty of time for photographs and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for wildlife and their tracks. The Abisko National Park is home to moose, reindeer as well a bear, wolverine and lynx (although the latter three are difficult to spot you may see their footprints). *Please note that our proposed tour operates on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday but alternative snowmobile tours are available on alternative days.
This evening you will enjoy your second Aurora chase of the trip. As before, this is a small group activity and your destination will be chosen based on local weather conditions, the aurora forecast and the years of experience that your destination specialists hold.
