Day 2 - Full Day Tour of Sete Cidades and Lago do Fogo
Today you will explore the village of Sete Cidades, famous for its beautiful lagoons and surrounding hills. At the mountain top, two impressive lakes have formed in the volcanic caldera (basin) one with blue water and the other green (Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Verde) an incredible natural phenomenon - one of the must-see attractions on São Miguel and one of the most photographed. Along the way you will visit picturesque spots, including lakes (Lagoa das Empadadas and Lagoa de Santiago) and sights less well-known but well worth a visit due to their natural beauty. Stop for lunch (included) at a local restaurant.
After lunch, continue towards the magnificent Lagoa do Fogo, visiting a few interesting places along the way including the calderas of Ribeira Grande and Caldeira Velha, where there are fumaroles and a waterfall of warm water. Stop at the viewpoint of Lagoa do Fogo with its magnificent landscapes and surrounding colours.

Sete Cidades, Sao Miguel
Day 3 - Whale and dolphin watching excursion
Transfer from the hotel to the marina of Ponta Delgada.
Enjoy a morning 3-hour whale and dolphin watching trip. The Azores is considered one of the destinations in the world for cetacean watching, and with a resident sperm whale population and twenty-eight of the planet's eighty species of whale and dolphins spotted in the waters of the archipelago it is easy to see why. Your excursion is on board a zodiac boat and is led by a professional team of skippers, lookouts and biologists. At the end of the activity transfer back to the hotel. Free afternoon.

Day 4 - Full Day Tour Furnas
Heading east from Ponta Delgada, taking the south coastal road, you will visit Vila Franca do Campo, the first capital of the island before reaching the rural village of Furnas. The natural surroundings of Furnas are lush and unspoiled with a large volcanic crater lake, hot springs and woodlands. Lunch is included at a local restaurant where you can taste the famous Cozido, a sustainable meal fully cooked underground using the natural heat of the volcanic hot springs – a must for any visitor to the islands. The tour will also include a visit to a tea factory and stops at various viewpoints en route.

Day 5 - Ponta Delgada
Today is a day at leisure. Why not visit the island's capital? Ponta Delgada is a great city to explore. While it's the largest city in the Azores, it really has a very small town feel. There are wonderful restaurants, bars, sidewalk cafes, shops, museums and old world churches. The Manueline architecture is ornate and impressive and the mosaic sidewalks are works of art.

Day 6 - Full Day Tour Nordeste
Explore the east part of São Miguel Island and get to know the greenest and most picturesque county, Nordeste. On the way, you will pass through the northern villages of Ribeira Grande and Porto Formoso. Enjoy the adventure and take advantage of the view on Pico do Bartolomeu where you get a privileged view of Pico da Vara, the highest point of the island.
