  • Amazon Lodge
  • Full Board and daily activities included

Posada Amazonas is owned by the indigenous Ese-Eja community of Infierno and managed in partnership with Rainforest Expeditions. It is reached by a short boat ride along the Tambopata river from Puerto Maldonado and is located within the Ese-Eja’s communal reserve, next to the Tambopata National Reserve.

It consists of a communal dinning area with bar, an interpretation center and small shop that are linked to the accommodation wings by raised boardwalks. In addition there is a wellness centre for massages and aromatherapy.

There are 30 bedrooms including classic and superior rooms and these are separated in to five accommodation wings. They all feature private bathrooms with hot water and windowless verandahs so guests can enjoy the fascinating sights, sounds and colours of the rainforest. Each bed is equipped with its own mosquito net and kerosene lamps and candles are provided for lighting. Superior rooms have doors (instead of drapes), electricity in the evenings and complimentary WI-FI.

Note: The bedrooms are separated from one another by light cane fencing and are private but not soundproof.

Daily activities include a hike to the nearby canopy tower (30 meters) that gives you spectacular views across the vast expanses of standing forest and the Tambopata River. In addition, guests can enjoy a visit to the Tres Chimbadas lake looking for the resident family of Giant River Otters and wildlife such a hoatzin, caiman or horned screamers.
