Ravello Music Festival

The Ravello Music Festival, or Wagner Festival as it is popularly known, is one of the oldest and most renowned festivals in Italy that has led to Ravello being known as the ‘City of Music’. Ravello, perched on a hilltop (400m) above the Mediterranean Sea, has enchanted visitors for centuries. The location has inspired famous authors, composers and artists over the years and, in fact, is famed for being the inspiration for ‘Parcifal’, Richard Wagner’s last and possibly greatest opera. Although the original emphasis during the festival was on Wagner's music (Jun-Jul only), the event has since grown and now offers a wide variety of music from large orchestras and chamber groups to jazz. Sunvil can advise what is playing during your stay and book the tickets in advance. So why not enjoy the music, the excellent cuisine and the rare beauty that make Ravello such a special place.
