Rose Hill
Argentina’s contrasts never cease to amaze me. One day you could be walking across the sculpted surface of a vast creaking glacier and the next visiting an evocative Jesuit ruins at San Ignacio in Misiones.

Get in touchWith over 30 glacial lakes, the Lake District is a beautiful area that is blessed with some breathtaking scenery. Bariloche is the main resort and is situated on the shore of Lake Nahuel Haupi. It is a pretty alpine town that is famed for its chocolate production and skiing, whilst the quieter, attractive resort of Llao Llao is 24km along the shore of the lake and is a perfect base fromwhich to explore the natural surroundings.
Victoria Island, a forested peak, is set in the heart of the lake and home to hummingbirds, deer, woodpeckers and exotic flowers. From Llao Llao, follow the scenic route north, passing by the seven lakes to reach the small, Andean town of San Martin de los Andes. Nestling at the foot of a mountain range on the shores of Lake Lakar, it is in close proximity to the Lanin National Park.
Bariloche - Puerto Montt/Puerto Varas
This is a fun and exciting way to cross through the Andes from Argentina to Chile. En-route, you take a leisurely stop at the Peulla Hotel for lunch and a short break. It takes 13.5hrs over one or two days and involves 3 boat crossings (39 nautical miles), 3 bus trips (106km) and a private car transfer (2km). The magnificent scenery (subject to weather conditions of course) makes it a great way to cross between the two countries. A must for the more adventurous!
San Martin de los Andes - Pucon
This relatively short land transfer (4 hours) takes you along the Mamuil Malal Pass, through extensive Araucaria forests, past ravines and waterfalls and alongside the ever present figure of the Lanin Volcano. The route is approximately 180km on mostly unsealed roads.
