Hideaway Rio Celeste

It’s a four hour drive (107 miles) north through Costa Rica’s scenic landscape to the luxury Rio Celeste Hideaway. The hotel lies within an 80 acre, primary rainforest reserve on the slopes of the Tenorio volcano. It is only 1 km from the entrance to the Tenorio National Park.

Totally remote and surrounded by lush tropical rainforest the 26 individual casitas are beautifully furnished and provide privacy and comfort in natural surroundings. Each air conditioned casita boasts a private backyard, an outdoor shower and Jacuzzi.

Dining experiences at Rio Celeste are based on a culinary philosophy of using only locally grown ingredients to elevate each dish but to also support the local community. Kantala Restaurant is an open-air space surrounded by gardens and the sounds of rainforest life and has views of the koi fish pond and tropical forest. The Mandarina Restaurant brings a flavour fusion of Asian cuisine and Costa Rican traditions in a rainforest setting. Enjoy an exotic cocktail in Cantina Delirio, the Hideaway's indoor-outdoor lounge.

PRANA Spa is an adult-only sanctuary offering a selection of signature treatments and therapies to relax, restore and rejunevate. The yoga pavillion offers yoga sessions surrounded by lush tropical nature. There is also an outdoor swimming pool with jacuzzis and a state-of-the-art Jungle Gym.

Over 90% of the reserve is dedicated to The Tapir Natural Reserve, safeguarding this endangered species. The Hideaway is committed to nurturing a harmonious coexistence between tourism and the environment, ensuring that this virgin area remains a sanctuary for both human and animal generations to come.

Here, the lush rainforest beside the Rio Celeste is home to 78 amphibian species, 135 reptile species and 131 species of Mammal. Exotic birds, sloths, white-faced monkeys,agoutis, coatis and tapirs are there to be discovered. The reserve has private trails for you to enjoy and exclusive access to a swimming area in the Rio Celeste.

ACCOMMODATION

• The individual bedrooms or casitas are distributed around the lush tropical gardens. There are two types of Casitas, either Forest View or Garden Views. Each generously sized room has a private outdoor patio, and bathrooms have both indoor and outdoor showers. With elegant wooden furniture and wood and cane construction there is a feeling of space and of being part of the forest itself.

These feature a king sized bed with soft linens or two queen sized beds and have views of the lush tropical rainforest. Each generously sized room has a private outdoor patio, and bathrooms have both indoor and outdoor showers. With elegant wooden furniture and wood and cane construction there is a feeling of space and of being part of the forest itself. All casitas are equipped with a gourmet coffee/tea station, Flat-screen TV on request, hair dryer and bathrooms. There is air conditioning and internet access.

Garden View Casita

These feature a king sized bed with soft linens or two queen sized beds and have views of the tropical gardens. Each generously sized room has a private outdoor patio, and bathrooms have both indoor and outdoor showers. With elegant wooden furniture and wood and cane construction there is a feeling of space and of being part of the forest itself. All casitas are equipped with a gourmet coffee/tea station, Flat-screen TV on request, hair dryer and bathrooms. There is air conditioning and internet access.
