Day 1 - Day of arrival - San Jose
On arrival at San Jose International airport take a private transfer (approximately 30 minutes) to your hotel.

Day 2 - Transfer to Arenal
After breakfast, take a guided tour of the estate’s organic coffee plantation. Learn about the journey from coffee bean to cup, discover the principles of sustainable cultivation, and sample some of the estate’s freshly produced coffee. Surrounded by the lush hills of Costa Rica’s Central Valley, it’s a wonderful introduction to the country’s rich coffee-growing heritage.
Continue to Arenal, where, on a clear day, you may catch your first glimpse of the perfect cone of Arenal Volcano, rising 1,670 metres above the surrounding rainforest and lake. The area is rich in wildlife, with howler monkeys, macaws and colourful butterflies among the heliconias and cascading waterfalls, creating a wonderfully lush setting to explore.

Day 3 - Private half day guided tour to Arenal hanging bridges
The private half day guided tour of the Arenal Hanging Bridges is yet another highlight to be remembered. The forest canopy is a world apart from what we are used to seeing in tropical rainforests and these suspension bridges (6 in total) which span the forest canopy, make it possible to view exceptionally beautiful plants and animals (for instance sloths and howler monkeys) which live in the canopy.
Here you are often 50 metres above the ground. Taking full advantage of the unique habitat there are many activities in and around Arenal from white water rafting to zip lining rides which can be booked locally.

Day 4 - Private half day tour to El Silencio Trail & Mirador
Explore the El Silencio trail, a peaceful walk through the lush rainforest on the slopes of Arenal Volcano. The trail leads to a viewpoint overlooking the volcano and surrounding landscape, with views stretching across the forest and Lake Arenal.
Keep an eye out for tropical birds and wildlife along the way, while enjoying the tranquillity of this beautiful corner of the Arenal region.

Day 5 - Transfer to Tenorio
Travel by road from Arenal to Tenorio, passing through the lush countryside of northern Costa Rica. The route takes you into a quieter, more rural part of the country, with forested hills and farmland gradually replacing the volcanic landscape around Arenal.
As night falls, head into Tapir Valley Nature Reserve with your private naturalist guide for a glimpse of Costa Rica’s rainforest after dark. Look out for the elusive Baird’s tapir, as well as red-eyed and glass frogs, colourful insects, spiders, sleeping birds and snakes such as the eyelash viper. The reserve is also home to the endemic Tapir Valley Tree Frog and an abundance of other amphibians. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, but the sounds and activity of the forest at night make this a memorable experience, before returning to the resort in time for dinner.

Day 6 - Private half day Tenorio National Park & Rio Celeste Waterfall
Explore Tenorio Volcano National Park with your private naturalist guide, following rainforest trails to the striking turquoise waters of Río Celeste and its 30-metre waterfall. Look out for white-faced and howler monkeys, toucans, trogons, agoutis and peccaries, with the chance of spotting the more elusive Baird’s tapir.
Walk at your own pace, with plenty of time for wildlife observation and photography, before returning to the resort before noon.

Day 7 - Transfer to San Jose and flight to Drake Bay
On arrival at Drake Bay Airstrip, you’ll be met by a representative from SCP Corcovado Wilderness Lodge for a short 4x4 journey to the beach. From here, a scenic boat ride follows the remote coastline of the Osa Peninsula with its densely forested coastline.
As the lodge has no road access, this combination of 4x4 and boat is all part of the adventure. The journey takes around an hour in total, although timings can vary depending on sea and weather conditions.

Day 8 & 9 - Activities from the hotel
The lodge offers a range of guided activities, including wildlife walks in search of monkeys, sloths, tapirs and, with luck, wild cats. There is also a guided group excursion to Corcovado National Park and a group snorkelling trip to Caño Island.

Day 10 - Transfer to Manuel Antonio
After breakfast, travel from Corcovado Wilderness Lodge to Manuel Antonio. The journey takes approximately 4–5 hours and combines a boat transfer with a private road transfer. Sit back and enjoy the changing scenery as you travel from the remote Osa Peninsula to Costa Rica’s Pacific coast.

Day 11 & 12 - Days at leisure in Manuel Antonio
Enjoy a couple of days at leisure in Manuel Antonio, with time to relax on the beach or make the most of the area’s natural surroundings. Visit Manuel Antonio National Park to explore its rainforest trails and look out for sloths, monkeys, iguanas and colourful birdlife, or take to the water for kayaking, snorkelling or a boat trip. Alternatively, simply unwind at the hotel and enjoy the Pacific coast at your own pace.
