Located on the edge of the Tortuguero canal, there are plenty of places to relax and enjoy the scenery too either sunbathing by the pool, or seeking a shady spot on the deck, or a gentle walk along the trails in the hotel grounds.

Turtles are one of the main attractions in Tortuguero, leatherbacks nest from February to April; and the hawksbill and green turtles from July to October. But there is plenty of wildlife here from sloths and monkeys in the forest canopy to toucans and other colourful birds down to crocodiles in the winding canals and waterways.

There is always plenty to see in each different habitat right down to the colourful frogs, toads and insects. Take a guided boat tour or a hike, your experienced guide will be able to point out interesting things along the way. You could also try your hand at kayaking or sports fishing. Take the opportunity to go on a tour to a local village and see what Costa Rican life is all about in this beautiful area.
