Hotel Kolovare

In a wonderful seaside location near the centre of Zadar which is around 10-15 minutes’ walk away, mostly by the sea to the centre of the town and all the attractions.

This is a four-star hotel whose only resemblance to when it was built in 1974 is its external appearance. This is not an ugly high rise building as seen in some Mediterranean countries and, at that time, hotels here were built to offer space and Kolovare does just that. There is a large spacious lobby area with a bar and lounge seating. 

There are many returning guests and some choose to have special family events or anniversaries at the hotel. The hotel offers good value when compared with larger resorts and towns in the Dalmatia region.

The outside pool is set in a spacious garden area with an extensive terrace where sunbeds and pool towels are free of charge. A gate (with security code) leads direct from the pool area to the seafront and numerous pebble beaches. There is a small children’s pool. A pool bar serves drinks to the pool terrace where there are tables and chairs and an a la carte menu of light meals is available there.

The main restaurant serves buffet breakfast and half board evening dinner.

A bus stop is located around three minutes from the hotel and there is a service to the centre of Zadar for those who don’t want to walk and also, southwards to Biograd Na Moru (around 40 minutes by bus), a lovely seaside resort set along beaches and a marina.

Although there is a small outdoor children’s pool, the hotel has no other facilities for children and mainly is the choice of couples or groups of friends.

Excellent location to visit four national parks either using your own car or on organised excursions: Plitvice National Park, Krka National Park, Paklenica National Park and Kornati National Park (a chain of islands and this is by boat).

Also from Zadar, day trips are possible over to Dugi Otok (Long Island) including the famous Saharun beach with its ultra-white pebbled and aquamarine waters.
