Hotel Admiral

One of a limited number of four star hotels in Croatia where all rooms have sea view and balcony . (Single rooms may have a side sea view). The exterior design is based on a cruise ship and appropriate as the Admiral marina is below the hotel, mainly with small boats belonging to locals and visitors.

In an excellent location by the sea with wonderful views over the Kvarner Bay and direct access to the lungomare seaside promenade, it is under five minutes walk to the bus station and Opatija’s main Slatina stone beach. Around 10 minutes (via street or lungomare) to the central shopping area and market.

Close to the hotel there is a good choice of bars and restaurants and Grill A and D (near the “submarine” excursion boat point) is excellent and has sea on three sides (not hotel owned)

It’s approximately a five minute walk to the centre of Opatija with bus station, main Slatina beach and around 10-15 minutes walk to Angiolina Park, the big covered fresh market (open from 06:00) , larger supermarkets, bakeries and many other shops. Walk either via the street or all the way by the seaside lungomare.

Within a few minutes of the hotel there is a small supermarket and a large open market selling beachwear, bags and clothes.

The number 32 bus stops almost in front of the hotel in a westerly direction meaning an easy connection to the beaches of Icici and Lovran , or walk the lungomare to them.

There is a large, distinctive outside pool which appears to stand over the Adriatic sea. Free sunbeds, parasols and pool towels subject to availability and pool bar, usually from mid June to late September.

Excellent indoor pool with terrace surround and relaxation beds plus stylish wellness-spa zone with three sauna types, wide range of massage and beauty treatments. Small gym.

On reception level, the cocktail bar, lounge-café has a lovely terrace with views across the Kvarner Bay. The main Restaurant Ancora is at sunset level with outside terrace seating. Both half board buffet dinner and a la carte menu are served here. Buffet breakfast.

For those interested, there is a good daily activity programme for adults from mid June to early September (subject to minimum numbers) including Yoga, stretching, Pilates, aqua gym, Nordic walking, themed walks. Bike rental (at charge).

It should be noted that this hotel attracts large numbers of families and children in July and August.
