Hotel Pastura

This is a stylish and popular, family owned and run, boutique style four-star property right on the waterfront on the bay of Postira which offers accommodation in four-star hotel rooms or in four-star self-catering apartments for those wanting a more independent style of accommodation. Guests at the self-catering apartments can book their stay to include buffet breakfast at the hotel and can use all facilities of the hotel including gym, beauty centre, a la carte restaurant, café and bar.

The Pastura (as locals call it) has a wonderful location by the sea in Postira (note an o rather than an a!), once a renowned fishing village and where the fishing fleet can still be seen going out at night and returning in the morning with their catch.

This is a tranquil spot although even in low season, Postira has some five or six café-bars and restaurants together with post office and other small shops including a good supermarket.

The design of the hotel is based on a cruise ship so, in the almost oval central public areas there is a feeling of space and almost of being on an ocean-going liner, complete with navy blue and white design-décor in places, brass rails and so on. It is rather charming and a number of guests from UK return each year.

The excellent a la carte Restaurant Pastura serves a la carte menu and half board dinner, either a set menu with choices waiter-served or a buffet depending on numbers. Café-bar Tamaris is a favourite spot for coffee or a drink on the terrace and there is also the indoor Park aperitif bar.

Once weekly there is a special Dalmatian themed evening dinner open to all hotel and apartment guests.

An outdoor pool has a pool bar which operates in high season (usually late June-early/mid-September) with a terrace with sunbeds which are charged. There is a gym and small spa area with jacuzzi, sauna, massage treatments and a beauty room.

Five kilometres away, there is a sandy beach at Lovrecina. Sandy beaches are rare in Croatia. In high season (late June to early September) a small yet good beach bar-bistro operates. This beach can be reached by small car (dirt road), bicycle or sometimes the hotel reception can arrange a water taxi for guests with an agreed return pick-up time.

Hotel Pastura and Apartments Pastura are best suited to adult couples or groups of friends as there are not extensive facilities for children in the immediate vicinity.

The village of Postira is not the spot for people looking for buzzing nightlife or a wide selection of lively bars.

Double bedroom plus open-plan living room-kitchen with sofa and dining table. Sofa bed available for one adult or two children. Kitchen area has electric oven with four hot plates, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, micro-wave, fridge and essential cooking utensils and crockery/glasses. . Laundry service available at Hotel Pastura. Cleaning three times per week. Saturday arrival only, Minimum stay 7 nights. Breakfast is available at the Hotel Pastura at a supplement.
