Mango Garden Cottages

The Northern Link Road, one of the most spectacular drives in Dominica, winds up through Cold Soufriere Springs from Douglas Bay down to Autrou Daredevil Landing on the northwest coast of the island. The Mango Garden Cottages are set off this road, which begins just north of Portsmouth.

The setting is spectacular, with both Caribbean Sea and mountain vistas. For the fit walkers, the beach and local restaurants at Toukari are a winding, hilly 1.4 miles down. The airport is a 22 mile, 1hr 15-minute drive away. An ideal place from which to explore the north and northeast of the island.

20 years ago, Sylvia was on a holiday in Dominica from Switzerland when she met Eddison, her local guide, which led to the birth of the three-unit Mango Cottages. If you are looking for a local experience in pristine accommodation with spectacular sea and mountain views, set in the midst of fruit trees, herb and vegetable gardens, then you need look no further.

The Jungle View Studio, Ocean View Studio and Little Villa are all on a self-catering basis but breakfast and home cooked evening meals can be provided.

A stay at the Mango Garden Cottages is a delightful local experience, a garden paradise created by two people who love their island and want their guests to experience it through their eyes.

Jungle View Studio

This ground floor studio sleeps two persons in a queen double bed. There is an open plan fully equipped kitchen area with a fridge/freezer, full oven, toaster, Cafetiere and dining table. The bathroom is with shower and there is a separate WC. Equipment includes TV and a ceiling fan. At nights with open windows there is a perfect breeze. From the furnished balcony - complete with hammock- there are panoramic jungle views. A pull-out bed is available.

Ocean View Studio

This first floor studio sleeps two persons in a queen double bed. There is an open plan fully equipped kitchen area with a fridge/freezer, full oven, toaster, Cafetiere and dining table. The bathroom is with shower and there is a separate WC. Equipment includes TV and a ceiling fan. At nights with open windows there is a perfect breeze. A pull-out bed is available. From the furnished balcony - complete with hammock- there are views are to the jungle and to the ocean and Cabrits National Park.

Little Villa

For 4 persons, this light and airy house is not so aptly named because, in fact, it is quite spacious and on two floors, with two double bedded bed rooms (queen size beds) on the first floor. There is a pull-out bed in each bedroom. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a shower. The ground floor has a living area and open plan kitchen dining area. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, toaster, cafetiere and full oven. There is a fully furnished balcony with a hammock on each floor with views to the surrounding jungle and the ocean beyond Cabrits National Park.
