Kinsterna Hotel

This 5-star magnificent boutique hotel set in 25 acres, is tucked away on a hillside 7 kms to the south of the famous rock and castle of Monemvasia. It is surrounded by lush gardens, vineyards, olive and citrus groves, all watered by the ancient cistern from which the hotel takes its name. Supremely restored and converted from a Byzantine estate,the Kinsterna is one of the outstanding hotels of Greece.

The main body of the hotel possesses 27 luxurious rooms and suites, blending contemporary design with period features. All possess top quality queen or king-size beds, sat TV with film library, mini-bar, room safe, WiFi internet access (laptops can be provided), luxury shower room and 24 hour room service. Many have sea views (some to Monemvasia Rock) but not all have a balcony due to the historic nature of the building.

The hotel also offers deluxe Residences and villas, in total 51 rooms including those in the main building. All residences are spacious and possess large private verandas with loungers and sea views. Master Residences have a separate living room. They are the ultimate in modern Greek luxury hotel accommodation!

The centre-piece of the hotel is the ancient cistern, now a wonderful spot for a drink or meal from the hotel's gourmet restaurant. A champagne breakfast is also taken here, unless you prefer it served to your room. In total there are three restaurants, a wine cellar and vineyards from which the hotel produces it’s own wine.

There are two swimming pools, the imaginatively designed river-like swimming pool being fed by spring water. Snacks and drinks from the pool bar are served on the pool terraces here. If all this gets too exhausting the hotel's spa offers a range of facilities and treatments. There is an animal stable with farm animals, very popular with children along with their playground.

Monemvasia and a choice of beaches are within a 10-15 minute drive. But for Caribbean-like sands head southeast for the islet of Elafonissos - ferries run very regularly and cheaply, and take just ten minutes.

The hotel offers a great many seasonal and year round activities including wine tasting, cooking, bread making, feeding the farm animals, horse riding, donkey and horse carriage rides, cycling, grape harvesting and treading, olive picking, olive oil and olive preparing and private boat cruises.

Tailor-Made Kinsterna

Our holidays here can be very flexible. Kinsterna combines well with the Kyrimai Hotel in Mani and a split-centre holiday is easy to arrange. It is an approx. 2-2½ hour drive between the two. We can also include the hotel on any of our Peloponnese fly-drive itineraries.

If you would like a taste of Kinsterna, consider a short stay within your main holiday, perhaps to celebrate a special occasion. We can easily book you in for a couple of nights if you are staying in any of our resort areas on the Peloponnese, including Tolon, and have a car. Please ask for a costing.

Standard Room

Standard rooms (17 to 30 sqm) with air-conditioning, bathroom (shower and hairdryer), telephone, flat screen TV, complimentary WiFi, safe deposit box, minibar, with sea or mountain view and some with terrace or balcony. As this is a listed building, all rooms are unique and views differ.  Maximum occupancy is 2 persons.

Junior Suite

Junior suites (29 to 41 sqm) with air-conditioning, bathroom (shower and hairdryer), telephone, flat screen TV, complimentary WiFi, safe deposit box, minibar and fireplace or terrace with sea view. No two junior suites are the same and views differ. Maximum occupancy is 3 persons

Byzantine Suite

Byzantine suites (28 to 31 sqm) with air-conditioning, bathroom (shower and hairdryer), telephone, flat screen TV, complimentary WiFi, safe deposit box, minibar and terrace with garden. No two Byzantine suites are the same and views differ.  Maximum occupancy is 2 persons.

Kinsterna Suite

Kinsterna suites (35 to 42 sqm) with air-conditioning, bathroom (shower and hairdryer), telephone, flat screen TV, complimentary WiFi, safe deposit box, minibar and fireplace or balcony with sea view. No two Kinsterna Suites are the same and views differ. Maximum occupancy is 3 persons.

Deluxe Residence

Deluxe residences (51 to 60 sqm) with air-conditioning, bathroom (bath, shower and hairdryer), telephone, 3D smart TV, complimentary WiFi, safe deposit box, minibar and most with private courtyard garden (some with jacuzzi). Maximum occupancy in two rooms is 3 adults and one child. No two Deluxe Residences are the same and views differ.

Premium Residence

Premium residences (35 to 42 sqm) are on the 1st floor and are with air-conditioning, bathroom (bath, shower and hairdryer), telephone, 3D smart TV, complimentary WiFi, safe deposit box, minibar and fireplace or terrace/balcony with sea view (some with jacuzzi). Maximum occupancy is 3 persons in 2 open plan living spaces. No two Premium Residences are the same and views vary.

Master Residence

Master residences (90 to 100 sqm) with air-conditioning, bathrooms (bath, shower and hairdryer), two double bedrooms and living room with dining area, telephone, 3D smart TV, complimentary WiFi, safe deposit box, minibar and terrace with garden. The Master Residences can accommodate up to 6 persons.

Kinsterna Villa with pool

Kinsterna Pool Villas (120 sqm) with air-conditioning, bathroom (bath, shower and hairdryer), telephone, 3D smart TV, complimentary WiFi, safe deposit box, minibar and terraces with semi-private/shared pool and lush garden views.  The villas are on two levels and are able to accommodate 6 persons.
