La Scibina

La Scibina is a delightful, family-run property located in the seaside resort of Marina di Ragusa. The property, formerly a warehouse for almonds – the name ‘la scibina’ refers to almond soap, became a private holiday home in the early 1960s before being completely transformed in to a very stylish and elegant hotel in 2013. Through careful restoration, the owners have managed to create a functional yet elegant residence, stylishly equipped with all modern comforts. The spacious apartments have been cleverly designed so as to also be used as hotel rooms by simply closing off the doors to the kitchen-diner.

The surrounding countryside is dotted with carob, almond and olive trees that lead to the sea. The long golden beaches and low cliffs can be enjoyed in all seasons. This area is also a land of art, culture and food with its rich heritage of baroque architecture, exceptional local products such as Cerasuolo wine (DOGC), the chocolate of Modica and Chiaramonte olive oil to name but a few.

Standard room (Sale, Varcuzze & Dote): 1st floor rooms with en suite bathroom (shower room). Sale has a canopy bed and courtyard view. Sale and Varcuzze do not have a balcony or terrace. All rooms have double or twin beds, hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV and complimentary WiFi.

Superior Room

Superior rooms (Cianciane, Conserve & Dote): 1st floor rooms with en suite bathroom (shower room) and balcony. Dote has a canopy bed. All rooms have a hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV and complimentary WiFi.

Deluxe Room

Deluxe room (Varcuzze): 1st floor rooms with en suite bathroom (shower room) and two balconies, one with pool and sea view, hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV and complimentary WiFi.

Junior Suite

Junior suites (Palombelle & Ria): 1st floor rooms with bathroom (shower room) and balcony with pool and sea view. Ria has a canopy bed. Junior suites have a living area with double sofa bed that will accommodate two children. All rooms have a hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV and complimentary WiFi.

One Bedroom Apartment

Cianciane & Conserve (sleeps 2+2): Ground Floor: Lounge/dining area (electric oven and hobs, kettle, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and electric juicer. Barbecue on request) with table and chairs and queen size sofa bed, shower room and a large terrace with garden view. 1st floor: Double/twin bedroom with en suite bathroom (shower) and a large balcony with garden view. Two extra beds can be added in the bedroom for two adults or children. Cianciane and Conserve can also be sold as Studio apartments on the ground floor. All apartments have a hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV and complimentary WiFi. Towels and linen changed weekly in the apartments. Varcuzze can also be sold as a Studio apartment on the ground floor with kitchen, private bathroom and two terraces, one with direct access to the pool, the other facing the garden.
