Holidays to Lipsi

Overview

Introduction

Unspoiled Lipsi’s sleepy atmosphere, limited tourist numbers and fine beaches make it ideal ‘away from it all’ territory. The little port is the only village. Most tavernas are, of course, on the quayside, from where steps lead up to the old part of the village. There is a good sandy town beach, and others can be reached on foot or by minibus. 

Please note that beaches are unorganised and sunbeds are not allowed. This is a deliberate policy from the municipality to keep the island's beaches natural and one which we support wholeheartedly, as in our minds sunbed 'beach blight' is an eyesore (plus they tend to take over)!

Lipsi offers good walking amongst a gentle rolling landscape dotted with blue-domed chapels, and even has its own archipelago of deserted satellite islets, boasting pristine beaches lapped by the clearest of seas, many of which can be visited by excursion boat. Boats also run to Patmos for the day.

Getting there

Flights from Gatwick and a range of regional airports to Kos. Then taxi to port (20 mins) and ferry (2 hours – ticket included). Short transfer to accommodation. On your return the reverse applies. Based on last year’s ferry connections it will probably be necessary to overnight in Kos on arrival and/or departure and this will be prebooked in a BB hotel.

Representative

We do not have a representative on Lipsi and transfers are unescorted. The hoteliers will happily provide local information and our main agent in Rhodes can always be contacted.

Multi-Centre Options

With any other island served by flights to Kos e.g. Leros, Nissyros (note: midcentre transfers for Nissyros will involve an overnight stay on Kos).
