Antigoni Hotel

Situated directly above the start of sandy Magazia beach below Chora, the Antigoni Hotel offers a warm atmosphere, charm and comfort - and far reaching sea views.

Run by the owner Katerina and her friendly, helpful staff, the 17 rooms here are housed in a number of two storey buildings and are attractively furnished in the simple island style. Each room has its own entrance from the lush Mediterranean garden and possesses a large double or twin beds, air conditioning, WiFi, TV, tea-making facilities, mini-fridge, room safe, a spacious shower room and a large covered sea view balcony. A hairdryer and ironing equipment is available on request from reception.

We recommend the Superior Rooms as we think that the small difference in price is good value for the additional living space.

There are a couple of Family Rooms which have one or two bedrooms and a separate living room with one or two sofa beds.

The reception is like a little museum, full of traditional hand-carved furniture, embroidery and woven rugs from the island, many of them Katerina’s family heirlooms.

The breakfast is highly praised and offers a wide choice of fresh local produce - much organic - and homemade Greek specialities.

The beach is just a minute’s walk away (70m via the road and a path) and a choice of tavernas can be found within ten minutes. Chora above can be reached in around a 15 minute walk up the hill or in 5 minutes by taxi (cost €7-€8 in 2023)

The road runs behind but is not busy and from your balcony all you will hear is the sound of the sea.

Really a super little hotel - we like it very much indeed!
