Ippoliti Hotel

Tucked away in a quiet pedestrianised corner at the edge of Nafplion's old town, the Ippoliti is a charming and most comfortable boutique-style hotel of just 19 rooms housed in a restored 19th century mansion.

With great care taken to preserve the neoclassical style throughout the hotel, tastefully blended with modern comfort, rooms possess a warm earthy decor, wooden floors and ceilings, and are individually furnished with just the right level of paintings, rugs and draped curtains.

Some rooms have an iron balcony (on request only), a few with views to the castle or to the sea and the fortified island in the bay called Bourtzi. Room facilities are contemporary and include air-conditioning, flat screen TV (with BBC World), a DVD/CD player, free wifi, mini-bar, room safe, and a very nice bathroom with jacuzzi bath and/or shower and hairdryer.

Superior and deluxe rooms are larger and you have more chance of a balcony than if booking a standard. Three attic rooms (one standard and two superior) on the third (top) floor are chalet-style under the eaves – the two superior rooms here each have a small roof terrace outdoor sitting area. Please note these attic rooms are not served by the lift, which goes only as far as the second floor!

There are also some family suites comprising bedroom plus living room with two full sized sofa-beds.

The hotel has a resident’s bar, a small fitness room with gym equipment and, in the courtyard to the rear, a small swimming/plunge pool. A good breakfast buffet is laid out each day, which can be taken outside (room service is available).

The Ippoliti offers high standards in an excellent location just 100m from the harbour - and when we visited we were impressed by the friendly and helpful staff.
