Villa Nencini is a beautifully restored, 16th century stone building with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The sunsets here are truly amazing. This charming family-run hotel, owner-managed by the Nencini family provides an ideal base from which to explore this rich cultural area.

The medieval hilltop town of Volterra is in the heart of Tuscany, close to San Gimignano (30km) and within easy driving distance of Florence (76km), Siena (57km) and the sea (42km). The walled town is an enchanting labyrinth of cobbled streets with various parks and a wide choice of restaurants and bars. Once Etruscan and later Roman, this small town is now one of the best known centres for the turning and polishing of alabaster. Volterra is much quieter than the very popular San Gimignano and a good centre for touring Tuscany.
