Heritage Britania Hotel

Designed by the famous Portuguese Modernist architect, Cassiano Branco, the Heritage Britania Hotel is located on a quiet road, just off the well known Avenida Liberdade.  Built in 1944 and classified as a historic building, the Britania is the only hotel in Lisbon from the early 20th century which has survived intact.

Retaining its original style and glamour of the 1940’s, the hotel offers spacious rooms which are decorated in warm colours and adorned with Art Deco furniture, whilst its bar has a colonial aspect with paintings referring to the Portuguese overseas empire.

Within easy reach of this small and unique hotel is the lively Bairro Alto district of Lisbon, with its many restaurants and shops; the emblematic Sao Jorge Castle; the botanical garden and Rossio square.
