To the southeast of Bergen is the region of the Hardangerfjord, a natural landscape adorned with glistening blue fjords. Some of the most amazing hikes in Norway are in the region of Trolltunga, the four waterfalls trailing Husedalen valley, HM Queen Sonja's panoramic hiking trail and the Hardangervidda National Park.
The volcanic structure of the island of São Miguel has bestowed it with overwhelming beauty; vast craters housing gleaming lakes, hot mineral springs, and lush rolling valleys. The island itself is made up of six volcanic complexes. Our suggested itinerary takes you on a self-guided walking tour of São Miguel, using a route-book for guidance and passing through areas of geological interest.
Seize the opportunity to walk in one of the most beautiful places of the Mediterranean but also to have enough time for other relaxing activities. Our Active Crete walking holiday offers five mornings of long walks (medium difficulty) lasting approximately 4.5/5.5 hours. These walks will take place in the hills, the valleys, the beaches, the town of Kissamos and the surrounding area, as well as going through traditional villages and little-known ancient sites.
Walking in the stunning Troodos Mountains at any time of year is a treat for lovers of nature and the great outdoors. Walk or hike through the forests on one of the nature trails and experience the wonderful scents and aromas; enjoy looking at the beautiful waterfalls and surrounding views. Named for the Krka River and known for its waterfalls and monasteries, Krka National Park has a rich history despite being one of the youngest national parks in Croatia. The park features plenty of hiking trails and viewpoints to experience the stunning scenery. Many of the trails are modest but some do include steep hills to climb so choose carefully based on guideposts. Use the park guidebook provided at the entrance to differentiate and plan the trails which are most suitable for you.
