Verde Mar & Spa Hotel

Located on the north coast of Sao Miguel, Ribeira Grande municipality has a population of a little over 32,000 and the town itself numbers 4,000 inhabitants. There is a bus stop within a few minutes walk of the hotel which enables easy access to the capital Ponta Delgada. The airport is a short 22 km transfer. In the historic town centre of Ribeira Grande you will find supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and museums. The hotel, with 152 rooms and suites, is set between the town and the black sand Monte Verde Beach, approximately a 10 minute walk either way.

There are dramatic views of the north coast of the island and the Atlantic Ocean from the hotel. The picturesque Lago do Fogo is only 5 km away, an easily accessible walking distance. The Verde Mar (Green Sea) is one of the new generation of Azorean Hotels with sustainability at its core, as detailed below. Decor throughout reflects the colours of the sea. There are two restaurants, one featuring regional gastronomy, fused with different influences and culinary styles; the other with a more formal, fine dining offering.
